Chandra Kanta Acharya received Master in Engineering (ME) from the Moscow Engineering Institute of Geodesy, Kartography and Aerial Photogrametry (1973) and Post Graduate in Geodesy from the University of Oxford, UK (1978). He served as Survey Officer (1973-1979) and Senior Survey officer (1973-1983) in the Geodetic Survey Branch, Department of Survey, Nepal. Resigned from the job and started Masina Contintental Associates P. Ltd. (1983-2012), a lead Engineering Consultancy in Nepal.

He is a well known author in Fiction and non-fiction in Nepali language, and has published 5 novels, 2 travelogues, 1 Story book, 1 Epic and more…

Few are in publishing stage including a book ‘Kriti Ra Kirti ’ about B.P Koirala and others. He has edited and authored many articles on many renowned personalities and institutions in Nepal. He is also chief editor of different Mitrakunj Souvenirs. He is writer of different articles in Nepali, English and Russian in Madhupark, Garima, Vaijayanti and others (Nepali), Look Nepal (English), Moscow Literature and Rukopish (Russian).

He is the founder-coordinator of Arghakhanchi Coordination Committee in Kathmandu, a Life Member of Nepal Engineer’s Association and Member of Nepal Engineering Council. He was General Secretary in Nepal Student Union, Moscow in 1971/72. He is an awardee of the prestigious Ram Raja Pant award for his novel ‘Mitrata’, Vaijayanti award for the best biography article and Narabahadur Bharati award. He has worked for establishment of a publice library in his birth place Wangla, Arghakhanchi on the name of Martyr Moti Bhusal of the same place.

Involvement of CHANDRA KANTA ACHARYA  in Mitrakunj, an almuni association of about 7000 graduates from former USSR and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) for last 12 years:

  1. President in 15th Executive Committee of Mitrakunj (2013-14).
  2. Vice President in 13th and 14th Executive Committees (2009-2013)
  3. General Secretary in 11th and 12th  Executive Committees (2005-2008)
  4. Executive member in 10th Executive Committees(2003-2004)

Executive Committee in his presedentship (15th)  incresed the number of life members from 232 to 493 and published Souvenir-2014 along with Life Members’ Profile, a data base of these members.
